As I was worshipping on a Sunday morning in church, I observed others around me deeply engaged in worshipping the Lord and at the same time I also observed those who simply were physically present in the room but clueless as to the divine interaction that was taking place in the hearts and minds of the ones worshipping. I saw that those who are not born-again have no insight, no experience as to what is transpiring right before them. They could not observe the divine communion, the divine interaction between the living God and the worshipping believer. As those who do not know Christ are in the midst of worship cannot observe this beautiful interaction, they only can observe people engaged in singing with some sort of religious fervency. These are without relationship, without covenant and therefore cannot partake of this divine communion between believer and the Creator. As I was observing this the Holy Spirit brought to me the following words.
Jesus told us that the kingdom of God is without observation. “Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, he answered them, “The kingdom of God is not coming in ways that can be observed,” Luke 17:20 ESV.
The Pharisees who were probably the most spiritual of the religious order of the day asked of Jesus when the observable kingdom of God would come. (Doesn’t everybody want to physically see the kingdom of God?) Jesus’ reply challenged them beyond their senses by telling them that the kingdom of God is coming which cannot be outwardly observed through the 5 physical senses.
Further to that Jesus said, “neither shall they say, Lo here! or, Lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is among you.” [578] Again, Jesus emphasizes that the kingdom of God is not physically observed but rather spiritually discovered and discerned.
The kingdom of God does not give physical satisfaction of any kind, rather gives a satisfaction of the spirit and soul, where each person can experience peace and joy that surpasses ones own understanding as noted in the scripture below.
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Romans 14:17 KJV
Worship is both a personal and corporate interaction but is only truly experienced by believers. John 1:12 (NKJV) exhorts us, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” The kingdom of God is not for good people, neither for any particular tribe, culture or nationality, rather it is for all who come to him in humility and who are poor in spirit for to these shall the kingdom of God be revealed where all the glories of the Father’s love, power, authority, peace, and joy can fill a human heart. It’s not about the experience rather it is all about the relationship between you and Jesus Christ. Open your heart today and let him in and begin to follow him with all of your heart!
